EXAM KIT
Massachusetts Sexual Assault Evidence Collection Kit Program (MSAECK).
The MSAECK Program provides hospitals and other designated clinical sites throughout the state with sexual assault and toxicology kits to be used during medical examinations of victims of sexual assault.
The MSAECK is a sealed box containing a detailed protocol and all the medical equipment needed to perform a complete forensic medical examination on adult and adolescent sexual assault victims (12 years of age and older). The collected evidence is used by the police in the arrest and by the prosecutors in the attempt to convict the alleged author. The MA PEDI Kit is to be used when performing a forensic medical examination on victims of sexual assault (11 years of age or younger). The Tox kit is available to administer to victims suspected of having been drugged in conjunction with a sexual assault.
payment of exams
Under the Federal Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), all patients are eligible to have the cost of their forensic examination covered by the state of Massachusetts regardless of where they are located here in the country._cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_
